Lily Maes cafe/bistro thing
Have got to say, I am really disappointed with this place
Went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Lovely decor, really nice staff, had a breakfast (cant remember which one) and fella had the same but asked for a different combination, which they were more than amenable. We were quite impressed, the food wasnt amazing but not bad at all, and we decided to make this our weekend breakfast place.
However this time, missed the breakfast by minutes, so ordered seared salmon. Sounded quite interesting. It was horrible. I could feel the grease on my lips. Only had 2 mouthfuls and then waited for fella to finish his. When we went to pay at the till, she noticed the full plate, and fella explained that it was a little greasy. She automatically launched into the fact that it had only been seared and then put in the oven so it wasnt. I said it actually was, which is why there was a plate full of food left, she turned round and said that it must be the fish itself (?!). Either way, we paid and left. Wont be returning. An apology would have been nice or just a little less attitude

Must be a bad day for thinking. Have a read at this:
Food Standards Agency - What's an oily fish?

Re: Lily Maes cafe/bistro thing
Salmon, sardines, tuna, all are oily fish, but it is the good kind omega3.

Re: Lily Maes cafe/bistro thing
A good business always allows the customer to be right.
If the customer says a fish was greasy, apologise, because it was.
Arguing it wasn't, means you're unlikey to see that customer again.

Re: Lily Maes cafe/bistro thing
Ive had Salmon plenty of times, but nothing like this. Like I say, it was greasy on my lips afterwards.
Its a shame, cos we'd thought we'd found an alternative to an asda brekkie. I may actually have to cook one at this rate lol

Re: Lily Maes cafe/bistro thing
Yeah I know Cashy. Hadnt been in there at that point, I was referring to the managers attitude when he posted on accy web against someone else commenting on his Bistro (cafe), thought it might be slightly better in the person
Now the food can put me off as well

Who ? Just curious that's all, as it is a rather sharp comment & I'm sure others may be interested too as to whom your comment refers. (Perhaps some reasoning as well)
