Mill Life

Anyone who worked in the Mills is welcome to come into the Centre today for a bun and a brew so we can pick your brains.

Young people have been working with a film company to write their own film about Mill Life and they need to talk to people who have experienced it. You might have heard two of them on the radio this morning talking about it.

We've got someone from the museum coming along to show people how to spin and punch cards.

It's all fun, free and would be very helpful.

Also, any young people who might want to get involved in the project as it carries on is welcome to come along. You'll get experience acting, writing and even helping out filming.

Between 10.30am and 1pm today. Just call in.

Re: Mill Life

a bit more notice and my mum would have been happy to have helped.

it would be good to capture her experience/stopries whilst she is still around. if you want to arrange something outside this let me know and i'll ask her if you could pop round to her house.

Re: Mill Life

I did some work for the Museum in Helmshore a couple of years ago. We had an exhibition at Haslingden Library of all the Mills in Haslingden and then took peoples names who came along and went to interview them with a voice recorder at home.

It was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some really nice people.

I may still have copies of those I did - will have a look today for you.
