Monte Cristo
Anyone been lately? Haven't been for a long time as it had gone down hill a lot. But for some reason fancy going Saturday and wondered if it had picked up again.

Re: Monte Cristo
I went Wednesday evening. This was he 1st time i'd been but would say it was O.K not great. The starter was overcooked, the main meal was fine to me but he wasnt too impressed at all and says he wouldnt be going back in a hurry.

Re: Monte Cristo
With Emzy on this, found it a very expensive night when I went for food that wasn't overly good

Re: Monte Cristo
Any business there has all the odds against success because it is badly placed.
Not only is it in Church, it is a bad Feng Shui placement facing that ski slope of Dill Hall Lane

I'll pass on that one. Didn't see him last time we were there.
Thanks for all your replies. With the weather like it is don't think we'll be bothering. But then again if it clears up or even warms up a couple of degrees said we might go to Jade Gardens.

Re: Monte Cristo
I went for a meal last night and I would highly recommend the Monte Cristo. The food was excellent also the service. I could not fault it.

It is my favourite restaurant in Hyndburn never had a bad meal there. The staff are always very attentive. The Thursday evening special menu is a very reasonable. They always have a very good choice of fish dishes, better than in some specialist seafood restaurants I have been too.

Re: Monte Cristo
Went late November on a leaving do .. quite a lot of us ... 'course they took their time, but doesn't matter when you are nattering to ex colleagues, etc.
Yes, they are always polite and food was as good as you will get at an Italian restaurant. Mind you, I am not a good judge... only ever order a Pizza, cause they serve Pasta muck and find Italians are not good at meat dishes either. Wine is always brilliant ..
Agree about the smoking area though .. is magical. The Observer should now think about running a competition re. the best smoking area in Hyndburn ! (or the worst LOL)

Re: Monte Cristo
went to monte cristo last nite, like i said, we choose thurday cuz with the baptism next week we coudnt afford much.
We had a table for 7, we didnt get it till half past, the 3 course meal is not longer 9.95 so i think they should take the sign outside, they didnt have live music either so that was a downpoint as well.
The food, the starters were great i had prawn cocktail, i love pranws, really nice, a bit spicy, my bf had the soup, carrots and coriander really nice as well, the i had for main course lamb shank again addicted to lamd and my bf had pollo a la creme, not impressed, chicken was a bit pink and it was as big a my thumb!
Anyway the dessert was nice, i had tiramisu and my bf had chocolate fudge cake, we had a bottle of rose wine 13.50 he bottle, im sure is one from asda 3 for a tenner!
Anyway the meals are now 12.95 just for those who dont know
