Oliver!
Went to see "Oliver!" at Ossy Civic Theatre.
Brilliant! Loved it!
Only one slight criticism was that Nancy wasn't too audible when she came along the front walkway at one point.
Mr Bumble and his lady love were a wonderful double act but I did so miss the line "More? More? The boy asked for more!"
I worry a bit too when anyone is up on that top ledge. Poor little Oliver looked like he could have fallen out of bed at one point, and it's a long drop down to ground level from up there.
On the whole the singing was excellent and Fagin was an absolute gem my dears.

Re: Oliver!
Perhaps Nancy was still a bit traumatised from all her years with Bill.
I was Nancy in our school production. I belted out my songs, and outshone nasty Mr Sykes.

Have on the most 'sound' source that Nancy forgot to plug her voice mike in during a costume change and this is why nobody could hear her.

Re: Oliver!
I think this is a bit of a Twist............
Seriously, I hope people go and enjoy these things. Not my cup of tea but if people don’t patronise the local art’s seen we’ll lose them. Is anyone we know in the cast?

What’s my cup of tea: Well now you ask, currently it’s a strong brewed “Twinings” Classics English Breakfast……..fantastic.

Please stop flirting with me. This week I'm mainly accepting A-b's attentions.

Re: Oliver!
Can't believe that in this week's Observer, there was a foonote under the Dress Drehearsal picture that the Theatre Group were not sending tickets to the Observer due to a bad crit. 2 years ago ! Have been a member for at least 35 years and will have to find out more.
We are Amateurs I know, however, have always taken on board any personal constructive criticism of my performance and try to do better next time. A reporter can only report what they see and try to be honest, whilst commending any good efforts, etc.
Some groups only wish to see the good ones all the time which may not be the truth. We do get the feeling, however, that the reporters draw straws of a Monday evening to who will attend and pretty obvious sometimes that they are very wet behind the ears with regard to the theatre. The crit. we received from Simon Thacker on 'Touched' was a waste of space, no mention of the performances particularly or the production, just basically a synopsis of the play and how he felt about it.
Gayle .. were you the culprit here ??
