Re: Parkinson's Disease Society new local group
The information/collection day held as part of Parkinson's Awareness Week, was a great success.
We were able to tell a number of people about the support there is locally for those affected by the disease, who were so far unaware of the existence of the support group.
We also collected £181.00. Which in these hard economic times is fantastic.
Thanks go to Hyndburn Borough Council, and the management of Accrington Market Hall, for allowing us to be there today.
A massive thank you to the people of Accrington, not only for the money donated, but for the kind words, and encouragement.
It gladdens your heart, that there are so many truly lovely people in this area.
Lastly, thanks to Lancsdave, for donating the fantastic t-shirts from Giftprint. They worked brilliantly. We were certainly a highly visible presence in Accrington today.

Re: Parkinson's Disease Society new local group
On behalf of the group I'd like to thank Cllr. Colette McCormack, Mayor of Hyndburn 2011/12, for very kindly awarding us a generous award, as part of her charity fund, which she worked hard to raise in her year as Mayor.
It really is most appreciated, and will help us to continue supporting people with Parkinson's, and their families, in our area.
I'd also like to thank her for the interest, and encouragement she offered the group recently, when I was in her shop in Warner Street.
The Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Parkinson's support group.

Re: Parkinson's Disease Society new local group
The next meeting of the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Parkinson’s disease support group will be on Saturday 8th of September, 11.30am - 1.00pm, in the Supper Room at Accrington Town Hall.
There will be a Jacob’s Join/bring and share lunch, and a warm welcome will be extended to anyone whose life has been affected by Parkinson’s
It’s very informal, but we also aim to offer support, information, and friendship to members old and new.
(There is lift access.)
