Re: Queens Park (Park)
Going there was one of our "days out" when we were young Shaz. No money for holidays and got to say we had some great days there. Mumused to do a picnic and if I remember rightly you could get a jug of tea at the cafe. We played for hours just using our imagination. Happy days

Re: Queens Park (Park)
they should still do them, the park would make a lot of money if they still did that, they still do them at Thompson park in Burnley

That is /was the boat lake where the kids are standing isn't it? And wasn't the cafe in that building?

Re: Queens Park (Park)
Still a great place to take the kids, we used to get the bus to Intack and walk up. It is a fair old climb but as I said we had some lovely days up there

The building was for the boats. I used to canoe on the lake as a kid on saturday or sunday mornings around 1981 ish.
The lake is only about 3 or 4 feet deep, I have been stood in it in winter several times

Re: Queens Park (Park)
yes Neil, i know the boat house was for the boats and i know how deep it is, they drained it about 8 years ago and it was nothing but slimey sludge underneath...looks far better with water in it
