Rawtenstall Annual Fair

Rowl up, Rowl up - the fair is on over the weekend of 12th, 13th July. In town centre on the Saturday, in Whitaker Museum Park on the Sunday. I'm at the Sunday event, which has a strong dialect theme. I have no news on the mermaid.

I sung that song a few times in the Golden Lion Todmorden, back in the late 50's early 60's, after few pints of Whittaker's ale of course.

Re: Rawtenstall Annual Fair

I started as thread about the RAF (Rawtenstall Annual Fair) on Rossendale OnLine on 1st June. Today I posted again. There had been no further postings on the thread. What is it that Accyweb has got that the other town sites don't have?

If you do attend, it may be useful to take a walking stick - do you agree, Gremlin?

Yes Bob, I wonder what the mermaid looks like nowadays, all pink and wrinkly.
The gas works have gone. The song means nothing to the younger generation.

I think they'll be hearing it next weekend - certainly on Sunday./
