A list of the shows and concerts happening in the Accrington Town Hall and the Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre from this weekend to the end of the year, or visit www.hyndburnentertainment.com
One Step Behind
Sat 1st Sept 8pm
Civic Theatre Oswaldtwistle
All Tickets £10.00
"One Step Behind" are the UK's PREMIER MADNESS tribute band. The band was formed in Spring 1993 and has achieved widespread recognition in their 19 year career.
At first they played low profile venues in their native London, but quickly progressed and were invited to play larger and more prominent venues such as The Grand, The Venue and The Marquee. They are regulars on the European festival scene having appeared at BBC Proms in the Park, Pinkpop in Holland, Glastonbudget, Retropop in Holland and many others.
Each member of One Step Behind grew up as a Madness fan and for each, perfecting his portrayal of his original Madness counterpart has been a labour of love. They strive to match every detail of the original, both musically and in appearance.
Like Madness, One Step Behind are well known for their on-stage antics with which they build up an authentic 'Nutty' atmosphere. This is One Step Behind's philosophy - to carry forward the Mad mantle into the 21st century and beyond.
They feel that by replicating one of the nation's best-loved institutions, they are keeping alive the spirit that inspired a whole generation, and still enjoys enormous popularity today. One Step Behind see themselves as perpetuating the popularity of Madness, who now rarely appear in public."

The Velveteen Rabbit
Sun 21 October 12pm and 2.30pm
Civic Theatre Oswaldtwistle
All tickets £6.00
Backhand Theatre brings to life this magical literary classic by Margery Williams. From the safety of the nursery we share in the recollections of our friend The Raggy Doll and hear the enchanting story of how one boy’s favourite toy was loved so much that he became real.
The Velveteen Rabbit is an inquisitive toy, he has bright button eyes and soft and velvety fur, and he doesn’t have any cogs or gears or clock work. He is just a rabbit with big dreams. He loves his boy very much and asks his friend the skin horse what it means to be real. The skin horse tells him that to be truly real you have to be loved to the point where you have no fur because it has all been hugged away.
A heart-warming classic that shows every one what it means to be loved. This beautiful story is brought to life using stunning and realistic puppetry that encourages children to believe in the magic of the tale. Children are provided with opportunities to laugh and shout and be a part of the Velveteen Rabbit’s story, leaving them with a theatrical memory they will treasure as much as the story itself.
'Sophisticated and genuinely touching'

Backhand Theatre brings to life the classic tale of The Reluctant Dragon, the story of a boy who meets a dragon who is not your average fire-breathing monster. The terrifying reptile he expects to meet is instead a charming artistic lizard who has a love of amateur dramatics. He reads poetry, gives his best hamlet for all to see, and certainly makes a lovely afternoon tea. The boy and the dragon have many adventures until, one day, Sir George the dragon killer comes to town. With some quick thinking from the boy, Sir George, and his dragon friend, they decide to stage the most wonderful dragon slaying ever seen!
Based off the book by Kenneth Graeme, author of Wind in the Willows
