Re: St Georges Day

There bloody well should be....I'm sick & tired of reading about various publically subsidised events, such as St Patricks Day bashes, Gay bashes, Festival oF Eid, etc....shut this nonsense down and lets celebrate ENGLAND!

Re: St Georges Day

It's a sad state of affairs when the majority of English people do not know when St Georges Day is.

[QUOTE lets celebrate ENGLAND![/QUOTE]
I shall be celebrating St Georges Day with a few scoops of Charles Wells' Bombardier, the self appointed official unofficial beer of St Georges Day. If you go to the Charles Wells homepage www.charleswells.co.uk and follow the link to www.bombardier.co.uk there a few items of interest which may twang your heartstrings and love for your Mother
Country... Sign the petition to make St Georges Day a bank holiday, follw the link to www.thevalueofstgeorge.com. Food, (and drink), for thought there, Tealeaf.

Re: St Georges Day

I agree....if we're going to have a holiday in April/May, then lets gets rid of this May Day Euro nonsense and have St Georges Day...let the Joc's & the Taffs have their hoidays as well. May Day (certainly where I am at the moment) is no more than an excuse for various anarchists, animal-lovers and 57 other varieties of riff-raff to turn up & smash the town up. They would'nt dare do that on St Georges Day.

Re: St Georges Day

We used to go with the Brownies and girl guides every year. Is it the 23rd or the 21st? One of the two is St. Georges day, the other is the Queen's birthday - you see, there aer some patriots out here still...

Re: St Georges Day

Was that on the actual date or on the nearest saturday/sunday to the 23rd?....I always thought we celebreated the Queens Birthday on her official birthday.

I get an invite every year to a St Georges Day bash in Australia which is combined over the weekend with Anzac day on 25th April...it's held over a long weekend from the nearest thursday night to tuesday morning. About a 1000 people with a medieval theme. Unfortunatly, I've never been...maybe next year

Re: St Georges Day

Saints Days are probably about as insignificant as your birthday, Baudelaire.
