The Mowgli Stories

If you're in Great Harwood and looking for something to do on Saturday come along to Memorial Park at 5.30.

As part of Hyndburn Borough Council's, Year of Culture, theatre company, Illyria, is presenting The Mowgli Stories. These are based on the original Rudyard Kipling stories - so NOT the disney version - however they are suitable for ages 5+.

It starts at 5.30. It's FREE. Parking is very, very, very limited so the idea is that you should walk or get public transport.

Bring a picnic and something to sit on - plus an umbrella if it's raining. Don't forget sun block if it's very sunny. It will only be cancelled if there's a hurricane so if you look at the weather and you're wondering if it's going to be on or not - it will be!!!

Re: The Mowgli Stories

Gayle,
what would make it unsuitable for < 5's? If we were to bring Siobhan(4) for example what are we likely to encounter?

Re: The Mowgli Stories

Nothing would make it unsuitable - I think they just put a recommended age as a guide for level of how it's pitched for understanding.

Re: The Mowgli Stories

It's a play with an interval so roughly two hours I would imagine.

You can get either the no6 or no7, it goes from the stop on Peel Street outside the toilets. Times (these are mins past the hour) 49, 04, 19 and 34. Hope this helps
