5. I Predict A Riot
Oswaldtwistle was one of the Lancashire mill towns caught up in the power loom riots of 1826. The arrival of the spinning jenny and the power loom led to increased mechanisation within the textile industry and, as a result, many textile workers were made redundant. Those that continued working did so for extremely low pay and starvation became a real issue in northern mill towns. In protest, a large number of angry cotton workers attacked the White Ash mill in Oswaldtwistle and destroyed looms and other equipment.

How many pubs do you think would get involved or have the capacity to host bands? What would be the market - what type of music?

I see the beginning of an idea so just need more suggestions.

It can work out well ... every year in Kingston we have a Bluesfest weekend, usually in summer to catch the tourist dollar ... and on a winter weekend (no specific one) ... there is a Battle of the Bands, when all the pubs and clubs have live music performed by local artists. Whatever one decides tho'; local govt. and local business has to be involved.
