It is rumoured there is a certain part of his body he can't tell from his elbow, so what chance he got with a different species?
If it is a different species from him, maybe he's trying to throw us off the thread with a double bluff?

Yeh I do know about it but it's off topic isn't it - which is why I mentioned kids throwing terrapins and turtles, they got for pets, in local ponds and waterways when they get too big. These terrapins grow to the size of a saucepan lid and can take the tips of your fingers off with their jaws.

As further proof I have uploaded a picture of a dead one, it as you can see, it could not manage to get into the water, it had started to camouflage itself but expired due to lack of shallow water.
I await proof from yourself to at least give substance to your hypothesis.
Case proved I think.

Your case is flawed Dave your pictures only show river dwelling trolleys which are a different beast than the ones we are currently studying. I refer you to post 55 and the attached photos clearly showing at least four trolleys in what judging from the water mark on the wash wall is at least three to four feet of water , i also can vouch personally for the depth of that particular pond of water it is hall street pound and lock which at its deepest is about five to six feet deep, you will also notice that there is a picture of the trolleys close cousin the pram which is also pictured in the deepest part of the pound. Case proved i think you will find my good man.

Re: Alcohol/Canal
Without a doubt John , the trolley is a genus of the pram and if you think about it they both can carry children as well as other goods. And as a former canal man you cannot doubt my expertise in canal species recognition can you surely?

Re: Alcohol/Canal
I did state that the ones that land in the canal have done so by accident, its a bit like swans landing on the motorway, but as yet no photographic evidence has surface to counter my argument. I await this evidence before I re-evaluate my stance.
The original matter has remained static.

Re: Alcohol/Canal
I am now becoming increasingly concerned about the inertia of the fire extinguisher capsule. It appears to be waiting, possibly for some intergalactic signal from its masters on its planet of origin. Once that signal is given, will it unleash a storm of destruction on the denizens of Hyndburn?

You state that the trolleys that land in the canal do so by accident , you have asked myself for evidence on my statement that the trolleys are there and like deep water by their own volition. But i must ask where is your evidence to support your stance that they are there by accident, other than you saying that it is so. I can draw on over a decades experience of working in the canal environment and coming across all of the species under discussion on a professional level .This i feel gives me an advantage to comment on these problems that our local waterways are facing at this worrying time.

No I was on my own, if you check the panoramic photos my dog is on the pictures, clean to start with and muddy later. So if you check out the dog, I am always with it,............................................... ... on a lead there is a dirty smelly thing on one end... and a dog on the other.
