I personally, though this is none of my business, don't think that Hyndburn International Borough Council will want to get involved ... let's face it, they had enough static about the Kashmir thingy. If they were seen to be moving from Inter-national, to Inter-galactic issues, then the fecal matter would certainly hit the swiftly rotating object ... big time. Many AccyWebbers would express super-nova-like outrage.
Seems like things are coming to a head. Not surprisingly, Clayton seems to have become a galactic focal point. I've always believed that Clayton is the heart of the universe (Burnley, on the other hand, is another part of the human anatomy). I also think it is significant that the cut is the boundary between the top end, and the bottom end.

Re: Alcohol/Canal
I must say that most of the towpath which runs from church to Burnley is now in pretty good nick there are one or two crappy bits going towards Rishton , but Blackburn have got their act together maybe you are right i have seen the extinguishers in all the places where towpath improvements have taken place. Just as a bit of fun when i was working near nelson once LCC had closed part of the towpath to work on one of their bridges the sign on the TOWpath said TOEpath closed and it was a proper triangular metal road sign not hand written

I think you may have just arrived at the answer to the lack of progress the extinguisher is making, it is full of buerocrats arguing about the spelling of tow/toe paths, until they can settle this the pilot of this device isn't able to move in either direction before they change their minds and do a complete U turn, or is that a you turn?

Re: Alcohol/Canal
I hadnt thought of it in the context of the containers lack of movement/progress to its indeterminable destination but now you have mentioned it , its so obvious.

Family:- Shuvalongacus Abandendius, both types (bigdeepsplashius) the deep water breed & its cousin (marginuscloggius) shallow water/margins bear many of the same attributes & traits. Readily found in various bodies of water & quite commonplace, migratory patterns are irrelevant as they can be found all year round throughout the British Isles.
As to it's rarer cousin, the "Pram", while less seldom observed again there appears to be no migratory pattern & can also be found the whole year through within the British Isles.

Not a problem WM 221, just lucky I was reading Prof. B.Loxs thesis at this present time. What a strange coincidence that is eh ?

Did the good doctor Loxs happen to mention the phallus coverus, a translucent creature often seen floating in urban waterways (and sometimes in the gutters and in night club parking lots)? I do believe that they may have something to do with the interaction of the adolescentis hornius, and the slutus inebriatus. I have occasionally seen them hung up on shopping carts. Perhaps they have some kind of symbiotic relationship with the aliens.

In the particular notes I've been perusing, no. But that is not to say the good Professor hasn't documented such subjects elsewhere, in fact I think I may have seen some of his works in the past. I believe an essay published in the late 90's covers such topics & documents their effects on society in general "Saturday night & sheetfaced! I think this most consequential tome was titled. I shall check my library & confer relevant quotes to the viewers as time permits.

Possibly, those in situ - Dave and Restless - should commence a conversation with the container to see what happens.

Re: Alcohol/Canal
Despite my lurking around the canal, I cannot report any progress, well with regard to the extinguisher. I have however been fitted with a tag for lurking without a license.
