Its not so much gasping for breath kate, its not being able to breath out that's the problem, In a server attack what happens is that you take the air in but can't expel the carbon dioxide, meaning that your oxygen saturation levels drop dramatically, (most peoples SATS are around 98 to 100%) eventually going Hypoxic and then causing a fatal heart attack. In my case my sates on air are below or round about 90% that's why I need oxygen 16 hours per day which takes my SATS up to around 93% to 95% most of the time. The last time I had a bad attack I was literally minutes from death when my levels had dropped to just 67%, thank god for paramedics
