BBC math test

attached is a link to a BBC item comparing educational standards in China and the UK , it give 2 basic math questions for college bound students, one from China the other from the UK , if the UK question is typical of 'A' level math (usually required for science courses) all I can say is God help us all ,

no disrespect , but a 1st year apprentice Brickie used to know this stuff

I don't see anything funny about it , first year college students being tested on a sodding 3 4 5 triangle. it's an 11+ question

Well that's life, perhaps we need you to come back over and re-educate us?

Re: BBC math test

That aint representative of a typical A level question I'll tell you that for free. My girlfriend and best mate both take maths at AS level and the stuff on that is extremely complicated, would dread to think what they're going to have to put up with next year. The stuff on that question is more representative of a Yr9 Secondary School Pupil.

Edit:

^ A current AS/A level exam paper, see the questions on that are a little more difficult.
