Beautuful Poetry........
The Dance
~James Kisner~
The night had been so perfect, one that memories are made of,
A night you read about in stories when two are in love.
The restaurant was so beautiful with perfect ambiance,
A window with breathtaking view that always brought response.
The table by the window was the ultimate surprise,
The table and the view were just a feast before her eyes.
He planned this night well in advance and wanted it to be,
So perfect for the one he loved, a precious memory.
They sat down at the table set before them in such splendor,
He wanted this to be a night that she would long remember.
The steward brought the wine list for the first choice of the night,
He ordered something for her that he knew would be just right.
The steward brought the wine he chose and let her take a sip,
Then when she smiled he knew that she was satisfied with it.
She never tasted wine like this and loved its sweet bouquet,
She never had been much for wine but that would change today.
Then he ordered soup for them and said it was a must,
Soup is soup she thought and wondered why he made such fuss.
But when the soup was placed before them and she took a taste,
It was heaven in a bowl and nothing went to waste.
Then the main course had arrived, on lobster she would dine,
Everything was perfect from the lobster to the wine.
Never had they shared a night together such as this,
The perfect dinner date for them was always just a wish.
But as they sat in candle light and shared this perfect night,
Everything was beautiful and all the world seemed right.
They talked and shared so many things with both their hearts exposed,
Sharing with each other feelings that no other knows.
That night their hearts became an open book for both to read,
Talking of the dreams they had and even of their need.
Each had lives with gaping holes and voids from in the past,
But it seemed together all was made complete at last.
The night had been so perfect and it just seemed so complete,
It had turned out just like he wanted; life was really sweet.
He had wanted this for her and she was overjoyed,
With the plans he made and all the planning he employed.
Her heart was filled with happiness she said she loved him so,
To her this night was special more than he would ever know.
Everything was special from the wine to fine cuisine,
And as they made their way to leave she felt just like a queen.
So as the night was ending he was beaming ear to ear,
And as they made their way to leave he said lets stop right here.
He had stopped beside the lounge with music playing low,
He said let's see what's going on in here before we go.
They walked into the lounge and then he looked into her eyes,
He put his arm around her waist and caught her by surprise.
She looked into his eyes as if she went into a trance,
And as the music played so softly, they began to dance.
She wasn't much for dancing and this swept her off her feet,
The dinner was so wonderful and this made it complete.
They were the only couple on the floor but didn't care,
All the others in the lounge just turned around to stare. To them nobody else was there as they moved gracefully,
This was the perfect ending to a night of memories.
Everything about the evening made for such romance,
But nothing touched her heart and soul as much as when they danced.
