Bottled water to blame for floods?

I read in the local paper that imports of bottled water went up by 5 million litres last year, that's on top of the already tens of millions of litres imported.
Could all of this extra water coming into this country be the reason it's pored down for months ?..and could it have a bearing on the massive flooding some parts of the country have suffered?

One of the contributory factors to overflow of drains is the lack of ground capable of absorbing it.
Also too many people have laid patios and concrete.
Housing estates have been built on greenfield land and in flood plains -
all these contribute to high river levels

As soon as we see a bit of sunshine we are told there is a water shortage, wish they would make their minds up

OK.. maybe a factor, but what goes in has to come out.. I reckon all this extra imported water has a bearing.

All water is recycled by the climate - seawater evaporation causes clouds - clouds produce rain - rain returns to the sea.
No country has its own separate ocean unaffected by global currents.
What water you drink (tap or bottle) today has been peed internationally more times than you would like to know

So you don't want to know? = don't ask, and continue to display your ignorance.

Re: Bottled water to blame for floods?

I've given this some serious thought Mancie and decided that the foreign bottled water we are all consuming and passing on (if you'll pardon the expression) to our waste drainage, may well be counterbalanced by all the people perspiring in the heat recently which then evaporates and is blown away in the clouds to be rained down over the alps and produce more water there for them to bottle and send over here.

Re: Bottled water to blame for floods?

Well we daren't ban the imports because then everyone will be drinking home grown water and we'll have another drought!
