Bread

The other day i decided i was going to make some decent bread was sick of all this mass produced muck they call bread with additives and preservatives in.
so took a trip to Tesco got everything except one item the strong white flour cost £1:64 in Tesco.
Went into town and looked in a few shops for some sesame seeds and poppy seeds none of the big shops had them, so went into the market hall there was a little old woman with a walking frame in-front of me at this one stall she asked for exactly the same size and make of flour i had just bought for £1:64 i thought i had miss herd the assistant when she charged her £2:74 for the same bag of flour.
after asking for the seeds which they did not have i nipped out to see if i could find the lady in question i found her and asked about the price when she said yes it was £2:74 i told her what i had paid and showed her the bag she said she was going back and going to give them a piece of her mind for ripping her off.
i did not have time to go back with her but would love to have been there.
by the way my bread came out very well and is much better than shop bought junk

Re: Bread

I once got asked how I could justify selling passport photos for a tenner when the machine in the co-op does them for half that price.

I said I can't justify it - they cost me £14.30 to produce (at the time).

Re: Bread

I made 15 small buns instead of one big loaf
just eating one as i type this with butter and jam very nice
4 other buns are spoken for another member has asked me to save her them and is collecting later today as there is no junk in them ie: preservative or additives they need eating soon.
will remember your request next time jaysay

Re: Bread

It'd definately be a good idea to stock up if you have a big enough freezer
