Exclamation Bus Fare increase

Transdev have put their bus fares up again, so if you're sending your kids to school on the bus make sure you give them a bit extra ... one of Reece's mates told me this morning that a child return from Intack to Ossy has gone up from £1.15 to £1.45, because Reece has a better social life than me i've always bought him a bus pass (he uses it at weekends and in the evening too) that hasn't gone up much was £7.20 now £7.50

I buy a weekly pass, it was £7:80 guessing it will cost £8:10 when it needs renewing. Still good value as it is £2 or £3 return from here to Accy

Re: Bus Fare increase

thats why i've always bought Reece a pass Bernie, yeah it works out more money than bus fare to school but he uses it to go to his mates, there's a few kids around here who go to Rhyddings and they pay by the day (the parents don't let their kids go out further than the end of the road, even at 15/16) we both go out at the weekend so when it comes to it i save a bit of money and Reece has a bit more freedom too, as it stands, the bus pass is only 25p more than what parents around here are paying for daily bus fares, i wonder if they'll pay the extra 25p and let their kids have a little fun at weekends too?

just found this for you cashy ...

Elderly NoWcard Application

The age at which you become eligible for a English National Concession bus pass is changing. From 6th April 2010, the age of eligibility for concessionary travel for women will be pension age and for men it will be the pensionable age of a woman born on the same day.

The state pension age for women is rising by five years over a period of ten years. The age of eligibility will rise incrementally, that is, in stages, between 2010 and 2020. The earliest age for men and women to get bus passes will therefore rise gradually, from 60 on 5 April 2010 to 65 on 5 April 2020.The Government decided that this would be the fairest method, rather than introduce a one-off rise which would leave those currently close to retirement age facing a full five-year delay.

The table below shows the date on which you become eligible for a bus pass and the earliest date on which you can apply for your NoWcard, based on your date of birth.
