Re: Can't wait to hit the sack.
Katex ....I do hope you will not be posting details of breaking-in events of the new mattress, Let's face it , it's not like you're an old slapper that lives up Ferngore/Woodnook/Intack living on benefits

Re: Can't wait to hit the sack.
I dont have any of my old furniture either
i used to have a big footstool/pouf thingy that, when i was massivly pregnant was the only place i could sleep.I also used it when i was in labour.
I used to have a table that my grandad made me out of a tree he cut down in his garden, that might be in his shed somewhere actually lol

LOL .. no just an old slapper living down Clayton, however, will not be posting personal details ...
Well, certainly had a good nights sleep, my problem has never been about getting to sleep and staying in that state .. waking up is my problem..
My brother still has three items of furniture from my parent's home :-
A sideboard which I think was my grandparent's too .. good and solid with wooden pegs, not nails.
Bedding Box ! .. heavens who has one of these now ? Again large and engraved wood, remember the Utility blankets being in there (still might be).
Dressing table in spare room. Had three way mirrors and memories of looking at the back of my hair before going out.
They do hold many memories, and can remember most of the items that were held in each drawer. Hankies/hair brushes in top drawer, then certain drawers which were allocated to the rest of us. Tin of sweets in Lyons coffee tin which my gran kept well-stocked .. etc.
Unfortunately, these days, people can afford to change their furniture with fashion, but are not as well made, unless you pay a year's salary for a piece.

Re: Can't wait to hit the sack.
Well, me old mattress and base are still awaiting collection (no problem for me), however, neighbours who are moving soon, have had one or two viewers, and as we have adjoining drives, requested if they could move it out of sight ... LOL. Well, yes, perfectly understand, (hangs head in shame) but Council will not collect if not where I said it would be. Compromised, and moved further down drive. They have now covered it with an old duvet cover, which is driving me crazy trying to stop the wind from carrying it over the hills and far away ... Gotta' get a life from these small incidents that incite me to humour.
Just want to say though, have now left fags downstairs and not taken to bed with me for three consecutive nights .... you lot made me feel ashamed and thank you for your caring ... will keep it up .... xx

Re: Can't wait to hit the sack.
You want old furniture?
The old sideboard is in the garage - along with one of the kitchen cabinets.... dad put them in there because he needed somewhere to put his stuff - roundabout 29 years ago he put them in there and that is older than me.
Then in the front room is a desk mum bought for my dad when i was about 4...
In the back bedroom is what was my brothers dressing table/wardrobe..... that is older than me for definate - cos bro is older than me and hes always had that. Also in the back bedroom is my bed from when i was about 13 because mine was the newer bed - bro took his old bed as a spare for his house....
I also have an old card table ....... which god knows how old that is ....
Also have a few chairs - which we've had for longer than being in this house spread around the house ...
Theres others but they've gone to my sisters on loan .....
If i can think of any more i'll post it later.....
