You don't need to be Chinese, just stare at the cross, then actually look at the circle, and see that you were tricked into seeing a colored circle.

This is less an optical illusion,
more a Medical Examination Look at the picture below.  If you see fuzzy black spots in the intersections of the white grid you might get ill and will one day, alas, perhaps die *
