Re: Cold Weather Payment
What a boost to the economy this has been, I decided that as I had been allowed an extra few pounds I would get some extra gas and electric before I went to join my mates for a bit of company.
Being an innocent soul, I thought everyone else would have done something similar, (after all, it has been cold and what if it gets even colder?).
What a fool I am, everybody else that received it was buying extra ale!
The over sixties spent the time there bragging about getting £60 instead of the standard £25.
The system seems wrong to me, as much as I appreciated getting the extra and thought I was spending it wisely was there really a point in giving it to people that would waste it no matter how cold they got?

someone did a thread about that one off £150 payment that Gordon Brown WAS going to give everyone, i and several other people brought up the fact that it wouldnt go on fuel in some homes so it was pointless
