Typical merkins though that take you through France and then across teh channel instead of straight into Preston.

Once they get outside their borders they get all disoriented

Even better, whats wrong with swimming to Liverpool then carry on swimming down the Canal to accrington, you don't need a car then

I would have hardly any driving. I could swim down the St. Lawrence, and then out across the Atlantic, maybe taking a breather in Iceland. Climb out for a bit in Liverpool, jump in the cut and swim all the way to Clayton. Awesome!

I take a bit of offense with that Ian. Not once, on the whole train trip from London to York did I get lost . As far as finding Blackpool, we just headed west and looked for that tall thingamagig!
