This is the URL for info and to download a client, in a nutshell The University at Stanford does research on what is called "Folding Proteins" . Which basically is a program that computes the life of a protein I guess, but they do so much of it that any PC that can help is greatly appreciated. Now, by doing this they are able to figure out how and why proteins fold irregularly which in turn cause things like Cancer, Alzheimer's Disease,Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease...all types of diseases.

So by downloading and installing this client, you can choose from a few that will either use your CPU or your GPU. It will put a packet into the program (which you can select how much of your idle resources go to it) and run it out. When it's done it will go on to another and keep going, just running info and sending the packet back all solved.

i have it installed on my very basic system set to minimum resources and i havnt noticed any interference with standard running of my computer

this is a genuine project and many peopel are helping out, i am already a member of a team but theres no reason why there couldnt be an accy web team or just do it as an individual the choice is yours but every little helps and it dosnt cost anything to do.

almost everyone i know knows someone who has had cancer or has lost somone to cancer plus it also helps towards other diseases like parkingsons and many others.
