With the continuation of global warming, if the sea keeps rising at the present rate, it will be totally under the Irish Sea by 2017.

The sheep have no tails there due to excessive wear and tear!

The friction burns from the wellies catching their back legs doesn't add to their looks either!

Re: Isle Of Man

My sister and cousins live there. (Sis ~6 years, cousins ~25+)

From my experiences when visiting.

Its quite boring place to live, only one cinema in douglas, no real nightlife, nothing much happens. There is a supermarket in Douglas but none elsewhere on teh island. If you want stuff delievred it costs extra from anywhere. Telephone/Internet is a monopoly to Manx telecom as are mobiles(no roaming last time I was there).

The locals call it 30 thousand alcohoics clinging to a rock in the Irish Sea as there is little else to do but drink.

On the plus side, Crime is very low, scenery is beautiful, roads have no speed limits outside the towns(except for TT weeks when they make it 60 to stop everyone killing themselves). TT week means the population doubles for a fortnight and you get to do partying like bikers do. Taxation is LOW so you don't need to earn as much for a reasonable standard of living. House prices are higer than Accy but about the same as Manchester.

What are you planning to do there? You either need a skill they are short of or a cart load of money to get a residents pass. Non islanders are seen as outsiders for a LONG time. Sister is still not seen as local.

If there is anyting specific PM me and I'll ask my sis for her opinion.

Re: Isle Of Man

Well thanks for the advise.......... I think I am going to give it a miss.
For the following reasons......

1) cats have no tails.......what else is my 6 year old son going to do as a favorite pass time.

2) Drinking is OK, but if there is no nightlife, how else do you get wrecked in a night club, pole dance round lamp post out side a night club, end up in a dodgy kebab house, then wind the taxi driver up all the way home??.....no I can't live in the isle of man.

3) Yes TT racing is good, but , isn't much fun when you are finding body parts in your back garden for weeks on end.

4) Tinks would never get on a ferry to come to see me.......which OK that may be added to the plus side of moving to the isle of man

5) Being an outsider doesn't bother me, My family have always treated me like a outsider. They used to make me sleep in the bathroom when I was younger..........you think I'm joking?? roflmao!!!
