Isn't this a bit of a no, no?
A certain member has the following link to another web page in his signature:-
Forgive me if I'm wrong but aren't such links supposed to reciprocate and put a link to accyweb for them to remain?
If I'm wrong then I apologise, however, accyweb isn't an advertising area for political views, we have enough problems with day to day threads without someone pushing forward their political beliefs on the rest of us.
I would say the same if it was Labour or the Liberals please leave accyweb alone, you have your beliefs others have theirs let's try our best to keep accyweb neutral ground!

Re: Isn't this a bit of a no, no?
You'd expect a moderator would know the rules.
I hope it's removed, because if it was reciprocated, and Accy Web had a link on the other site, I don't think I could cope if we were invaded.

If nothing else, it is at least "Net Etiquette" to reciprocate the link!

If its in your signature it doesn't count as advertising on accyeweb (even though it is) so long as its a link to your own website..

I've had a look to see where the link takes you and I wouldn't worry Less, there's not going to be floods of people heading our way - there's only two people on there.

On second thoughts.
It might be fun to toy with David Davis.

Re: Isn't this a bit of a no, no?
I am pretty sure I asked permission before putting my web address in, anyway, I will be corrected if I am wrong, having 2 businesses, I have 2 websites, but there is only a section to put one in, so if I am not told otherwise, I may change about!

No cashy I think it's something we should all be able to debate about, what happens when someone from one of the obnoxious loony party's puts a link in their signature?
All reasonably minded people may object to such a link but how could that be removed if in all fairness a link to other political sites is allowed?

Re: Isn't this a bit of a no, no?
I don't personally think it matters whether the link is 'political' or not. Everyone has views. The world would be a pretty dull place without peoples opinions.

Fair enough and when someone does put another link in how are you going to decide that it should be removed?
I have no problem with your political views however, I do think this particular link leaves the site open to abuse from fringe politics, better to have no such links than you being accused of bias later, when the inevitable happens.

Re: Isn't this a bit of a no, no?
I think the problem there is 'where do you stop'. I mean, my personal blog is quite political, should that also be removed?
I think what you propose is really interesting though. My University Union had a 'No Platform' policy, which expired this year, and the executive decided not to keep it. Essentially what it did was removed the right of the BNP, Hizb ut-Tahrir and some other extreme political organisations from speaking, leafleting and existing within the union building.
There were lots of arguments put up on both sides, and I think it would make a really interesting thread in general chat if you wanted to start it.
