It was a good idea at the time?

True story - you may have one similar

A day out at Ilkley with a friend and our 2 two 7 yr olds.
We decided to hire a rowboat on the river, and it wasn't until we were in it that I realised that I was the only one fit to row - my friend was 8 months pregnent, (and I am a non swimmer).
I rowed the boat up and down for 15 minutes never losing sight of the jetty, Then said 'Time's up', to which my son said 'Really! - doesn't time fly when you're having fun'

Margaret you could have made up a better ending. I thouight you were going to go over a waterfall, and get rescued by Grace Darling.

Good idea at the time?

Shaving my head to a number one crop, and bleaching it white, but which turned out orange, making me look like a Belisha beacon.

Re: It was a good idea at the time?

Last year we decided on a day out to Hebden Bridge. As my brother in laws car was full,me & the lad said we would get the train & meet the missus, her brother & his family, beer & food there. We set off with about £20 between us.We sat outside a bar just accross from the river & train station & waited. After a pint or two i rang the wifes mobile to see what the delay was."We've been here ages, where are you two?"she said,"there is no pub or train station as far as i can see".Then the penny dropped.....they'd misheard Hebden Bridge for Edisford Brige Two more pints & then the train home for us two & no barby.
