I felt lucky so, while I was shopping I bought a £2 scratch card.

Joy of Joy's I won £2 so I joined the back of the queue to claim my winnings, my turn arrived, I handed over my card, you haven't done this right the lady shouted (almost screamed) at me.

Why say's I whats wrong?

You haven't uncovered the security code.

What security code? I asked.

The one that confirms it's a winning ticket.

Excuse me, say I, I've already confirmed it's a winning ticket by uncovering 'Winner' and the amount £2.00.

Ah, yes says she, but if the security code isn't uncovered I have to uncover it and that takes time.

I stood back slightly and put on what I consider to be a puzzled face (that is of course completely different to an amused face) pretended to look as if I was considering what she said, then asked, who needs the security code?

I do, she replied, well, I suggested if you need it have a penny ready to uncover it and shut up, your nagging has taken far longer than if you had done it without complaining, I've done my bit now you do what you need to do.

I have had another idea, buy a ticket, just uncover the 'security code' and ask, well have I won?
Doing that in front of everyone else could really p her off.

Similar thing has happened to me before. I just get a stern look usually. One that says "you could'nt scratch it all off?"

Well it was shopping day again, I did my usual, bought duplicate of what I already have at home and ignored the stuff I've run out of.

I then queued up to pay my poor man's tax and buy a lottery ticket, next to the queue was a frail old lady, must have been late 80's early 90's.
A young man leaves the till having purchased what he needed, the old lady starts to get upset and shout's look he's forgotten me I knew he would, what am I to do I'll never catch up, so , I shout after the chap Oi, you've forgotten something, ASDA goes quiet, embarrassed the guy slowly walks back, I point to the little lady, She's nothing today with me squire he say's, at that moment another bloke of similar age and similar stature leaves the queue and says, mother I told you I wouldn't be long, come on I'll take you to the car.
The young woman that had been in front of me turned and said, serves you right for poking your nose in, you should have done what I did and ignored the, 'Darling Old lady', (she didn't say that but it's a family site).
Should I? My Mum ended up like that, I would hate to think she was left to the mercy of such an unfeeling witch as that young person.

I would have done the same thing as you Less, well done and also the young woman that were stood in front of you in the que would have got a right gobfull off me!
