Ladies are usually left alone, last night was an exception.
I think point scoring is the name of the game...If you post something you believe in and wish someone will come up with a reasonable answer after the smart alec's have had a go at your Thread or post, sometimes you will be disappointed at the reaction. As a newbie you have to take it on the chin, grin and bear it. If you take the smart alec's on you get insulted.

Newbies and oldies alike are fueling this. It's nobody's fault but it's everybody's fault. This is my first and last post in this thread and in future, I will not post in any thread like this. Perhaps if everyone did the same the minute they started getting fractious then things wouldn't escalate.

I don't think it is about point scoring either.....it is about airing your own opinion on the site and also viewing the opinions of others......we can all learn something sometimes.
Coming on a forum like this is a social thing...well, for me it is.
I have not met many of the people in a face to face setting, and i do have mental pictures of what they are like(Ok, sometimes the real life version beats my imagined version)...they feel like a family to me. Families don't always get on with one another but they defend themselves from the attack by outsiders. That is purely my explanation, other members may have a different take on things.

Yes we should let it drop, I will carry on posting on here cause I to feel that it is a bit like a family we aren't always going to agree but we can still say what we think!

I didn't bad mouth the site either......there is a lot of work that goes into the running of a site like this and I value the effort put into it.

I don't think you can generalise about newbies.....or anything else for that matter, although we all do invariably do it at some point or another.

Isn't life strange? If and when I go on the attack/defense it is, (usually), against newbies that claim freedom of speech. Most newbies that come on give an honest opinion without trying to hurt or change long standing members, I welcome them with open arms, usually they manage an extra opinion without us having to feel anything other than a sense of 'Ah, yes',

Then we get people like, (and I hate to point the finger but) 'Roy buoy', who will never agree with anyone because they enjoy the mess made by others and feel they should add to it!

Why on Earth he bothers to post I have no idea, he should just get on with his own version of life and leave us to our own virtual existence!
