Look let's face it I'm a miserable Sod!

A lot of you out there have met the wrong end of my tongue, strange as it may seem not because I don't like you, but because most of you, I do like!

I do however hate accyweb being called because, let's face it, it is only a site, what we put in generates what we get out!

I seem to have a 'thing' against newbies, not true, most newbies come on and add to the site.

Some unfortunately come on and want to correct our wrongs without a please or thank you. That isn't them improving the site, that is them trying to adjust us to their way!

Lot's of us, (myself included), have our own points of view that perhaps could do with adjusting, but not until the newbie has proved themselves worthwhile.

We have had some folk come on recently and they have been disruptive and accused us of all sorts of prejudice, etc, is this because we are intolerant? I think the answer is no.

It's because they want us to be like them, well excuse me, we often argue we sometimes go over the top with some of our comments, but we generally keep an interesting site going.

We don't need to be told how to behave, we have been going long enough for most folk to understand how accyweb works, those that want to alter the majority of us can 'bog off'.

I think it's all down to how things sound when you say them and how they sound when you write them (and by 'you' I mean anyone and everyone not you specifically).


Some people join and 'get it', others join and think that people are saying things that they're not because they're interpreting things as insults that are flippant comments.

As a newbie a few months ago I found it easier to respond to persons who had put plenty of detail in their profile. For those who hadn't I looked at their posts to get an idea of their beliefs and opinions. I only slipped up once and got my knuckles rapped. I did find this very offputting at the time and almost backed out completely from the forum. Glad I didn't. Most people will give newbies a bit more rope than the regulars.
There is a heirarchy - some members think they are 'more equal than others' and the sooner a newbie twigs that the sooner a newbie fits in.
It is a little harder to weigh someone up when you are just reading posts with no body language feedback to help.

Everybody is a miserable sod sometimes.Glad to see that things have calmed down after last night's fiasco though.Did that get out of hand or what?Scary.I have just been reading other threads and noticed that on Accymel's profile it says she is now banned.I daren't start a thread asking why as I believe that this is not permitted and I'll probably be told off for asking now (thread wander).Go on then,I'll steel myself for the onslaught lol.Why was she banned?

She started a thread where she asked for all her membership details and all her posts be removed. That thread has vanished I think she felt threatened and wanted out completely this time.

The quiz is still there. Mel has left an email for anyone new who wants to play, so they can ask for the password.

Rat ****, on a personal note I’ve had the sharp end of your gob Less and I’ve conversed with the vulnerable side of what is a very talented man. I get the point of this thread, but feel that it’ll be wasted on some of the host.

What I admire is the will and the passion you put forward in your arguments. I realise that this post isn’t about you so much but the content of those lesser men and woman who post their self righteous dribble and then go on to criticise the site and other members.

We have lost some fantastic participants over the past two years but we have to accept change as a course of life, just as we have to accept that we get older. On the face of it I believe you’re a nice chap, opinionated yes, but who amongst us isn’t. I would rather live life amongst your like, than not have known you at all and for those that don’t like it, **** um.
