From what I have read it is more likely to be 22nd June 2010.

There is some risk soon, from a large coronal mass emission/ejection forecast for July 7th, which has the potential to severely disrupt electricity generation for several months

Like anything else related to conspiracy theories, some are real, some are hoax.
They occur in countries other than UK, and have been found in sand and snow (not just crops)
They get more publicity in UK because we are densly populated so they get noticed more readily.
Some are equisitely intricate and cannot be just '2 drunks using a plank and string'.
If you want to explore them there are loads of photos on the web.

The recent outburst of Comet 17P Holmes was shown in English crop pictures two years ago: both its stellar location in Perseus on October 25, 2007, and its conjunction with Mirfak on November 21, 2007 by Red Collie

Intersting are the crop circle's and seem to pop up quite often a lot more than I thought, we dont hear about them though.

I think that some of you may have had your curiosity aroused by crop circles so I post this video which shows that there are people who do study them using scientific methods.
Even if you are not convinced that they are paranormal, it is worth watching just for the beautiful geometry they depict
