Noisey cat after neutering
2 weeks ago i had my female cat spayed, she's been fine since BUT today she's started making that daft noise again like she's in season...anyone know why? i've read that vets can leave a tiny bit of ovary in by accident and therefore they still go 'in season'. They surely can't still get pregnant can they? i still haven't let her out on her own yet and don't really want to risk it until her fur has grown back over her scar.

I'd ring the vet if I were you, just to be on the safe side - unless you like that daft noise!

Re: Noisey cat after neutering
Would you not make daft noises if you had your bits taken away? Seriously a call to the vets for advice would not go amiss

Re: Noisey cat after neutering
If someone even thought about having a go at my gentlemans area.... There would be hell to pay.
But seriously, giving the vet a call sounds like good advice.

Re: Noisey cat after neutering
Spaying Cats - a complete veterinary guide to feline spay surgery.
Scroll down to section 7
"7. Late onset complications or problems associated with spaying female cats."
It appears that leaving a bit of ovary can produce "a condition called a stump pyometron".
I had a female cat spayed in the 70s.
She was a cat I got from a sanctuary and was mute.
(Vet said she had probably been kicked in the throat.)
So I didn't get the problem you are having.
There are some videos on youtube of the noise you are referring to.

Think those of us who have had female cats are very familiar with it! The guy in the basement flat in the house next door to us had a beautiful fluffy Siamese which he never let outside but you could hear her for days through his window!

I use these for one of my dogs, must say excellent service and help, I have rang once after hours and got very help full advise.
Flashy, I'm sure you have probably rang the vets by now, but when I got my bitch (dog) spayed (over 7 years ago), she still get the urges and tries to hump my male, maybe its a similar thing.
Either way hope your cat gets well.
