Peacocks closing

I see the chainstore Peacocks is filing for administration, looks like there's going to be yet another empty shop in Accy

I have been told yesterday that Len's stall in the Market hall is closing down too
this is a pity as i always get eggs sausages and bacon from there

It's only a few weeks ago that Lens was advertising for a staff vacancy, wonder what happened, it is a shame, it's the only stall other than Trickets that i remember being there when i was a kid

Don't know if it's been mentioned or anybody has noticed but Cryers on Abbey St has closed down.

looks like Bon Marche might be closing in the Arndale too, i'm sure i heard on the news today that it's part of the same chain as Peacocks

Yeah. Sadly it was on the news, both Peacocks and Bon Marche are going into administration.

There's a slight hope they could survive, but the chances are slim.

went passed Bon Marche today (27/1/12), there was a big sign in the window, Closing Down Sale.

Its a pity as I got all my frocks there.

According to my sources it's not part of Maundy Village, they think it's something to do with a church. Does seem strange that somebody else should be allowed to set up in the village, maybe there will be riots
