pills and side effects?

Well, after being on Prozac for almost 12 months, i've come off them, been off them for just over 2 weeks, the doctor doesnt know yet, i just came off them on my own....

Before i was on Prozac i was taking Citalopram (then that awful Mirtazapine)

are you supposed to get side effects when coming off them?
i havent had any yet, would they have come before now if i where to have any?

i bought some evening primrose oil the other day and i've started taking those, just incase

Re: pills and side effects?

I had side effects taking them not coming off.. I had tegretol for a few years when i was in early 20s . I didnt realise how the effects had snuk up on me (until too late) and decided to come off them.. Been on a few different ones since.. including new experimental type ones (explains a lot eh haha) and at the end of the day i decided the cure was worse than the problem ... got so bad that apart from pain killers i wont take tablets.. certainly not long term... rather be in complete control of my mind and brain

So no effects coming off... but i found too many being on them.

Re: pills and side effects?

i've always had a quick temper Kipax, thats partly why i went on them in the first place, my doctor put it down to me not grieving for my late mother properly(who died 17 years ago today) but i didnt think that was right, a few years ago i would fight with someone just for looking at me the wrong way, within just a few months i had fights with 2 sisters on the next street(both at once and both older than me), my sister and my sister-in-law, i didnt hurt them badly but they had a few black eyes and several bad bruises

i havent had 'that' urge for a while, i wasnt on the tablets at the time i was fighting...but saying that, i have threatened a few people since being on them....so i reckon being on them actually stopped me lashing out

Re: pills and side effects?

The problem with those tablets and the ones I had are that they do effect your mood.. there designed to not let you get to excited about something or too depressed about something... long term this puts you in one even mood... no real ups or downs... I dont mean a trance.. just one average mood.. and thats not right for a human being.

Re: pills and side effects?

They once put me on Prozac I only took one, I was crawling up the wall, I' on Dothiapin now which seem fine. One tablet which does have serious side effects are steroids, not the body building ones, but corticoid steroids, I have been on them 22 years, I need them to control my asthma, but I now have osteoporosis in the spine which is painful 24/7, because of which I've lost near 4 inches in height over the last 18 years and they also brought on cataracts which I had removed about 5 years ago. Your skin also bruise very easily ad your skin becomes very thin and gives it an aged look
