Excuse me? where do you get nine months of hell from? up and until the crunch You all claim to be blooming! then on average 12 to 14 hours of hell and yes I agree it is HELL! I think my wife had been practicing and searching the dictionary for the words she used to blame me for the position she was in!

I however while she was on gas and air and anything else she could use to ease the trauma, had to remain by her side taking this abuse, even if you went for a toilet break you could hear the swearing down the corridor and the look of disdain on the midwives faces because you were no longer by her side!

You lot at least had something to ease your suffering and were out of your heads, us men had to face it completley sober and without artificial aids!

I for one think the time has long past where we go back to the good old days of men no where near the labour ward and womens problems are not, never, discussed in front of men and children.

You were willing to assume that position to conceive the child, so stop moaning about taking it up again to give birth to that wonderous bundle of joy!

I was blooming all right, bloomin' sick from start to finish - spent the first three months ill, the next three months uncomfortable and then the last three months in hospital. There was possibly a day somewhere about five months in when I felt good!

And yes, I agree they should keep men out of the way because the last thing you want when you're in the delivery room is someone holding your hand and saying 'breath, breath' like it was something I could forget to do.

If you want to imagine some of the pain that we go through cut a hole in your skin then put both your hands inside the hole and rip it wider apart and that might give you some idea of how much it hurts.

As for drugs - they spend nine months telling you that drugs, coffee, pate are the worst things in the world for your unborn baby, then in the last few hours before it's born they let you pump everything and anything in to it. So not only do you have the pain to contend with but you have the guilt that you're drugging up an innocent child.

But I'll tell you what Less, next time we meet we'll have a nice chat about all this because I have lots to say on this subject!

We suffer a pain far worse day in day out it is the searing pain that cuts through the mind, from nagging, so called liberated women, that inevitably when something goes wrong always utter the term, "men", even if we had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

As for your threat to chat on the subject we are doing that now and only because I hate you ladies trying to be the martyr, you are built for the job I am not, stop complaining, stop blaming us, get on with what you are here for and the world will be a better place.
