poetry and rhymes

just read something on lancashire online which made me start this thread

have you ever written any poetry or rhymes about someone you know?

well ya cant actually class this as poetry but i once wrote this about mi dad (when i was 12)

this is my dad
he's called albert
he's not very pretty
but a bit of a flirt
'ive got kids' he said to me
'not one nor two not even three
not four not five
not six but seven
what will they think of me in heaven'

when we lay him down to rest
he wont be in his sunday best
he'll be in my jeans and shirt
thats what becomes of being a flirt

i still have the piece of paper i wrote it on all those year ago

Thats not bad Flashy, have never wrote any myself but someone who I used to work with wrote a poem about me and it was published, I dont know it though, wasn't told about till years later.

I know I'm sad but I like poetry... I tend to get roped in for doing rhymes for people when they are sending cards!!

But the hardest one I wrote was for when a friends little boy died which I gave to them... but I don't think it's right to put it on here as I know family members come on here

Ive got a great poem

Mary had a little lamb

It ran into a pylon

10,000 volts went up its ass

And turned its wool to nylon.

From a song I wrote many years back called "For The Lonely Ones":

A lonely boy, lay on his bed,
With pain in his heart and sorrow in his head.
His father wasn't there, his mother didn't care.
His pain and his anquish, were more then he could bare.

He asked the Lord to help him, to help him through his day, he thanked the Lord for hearing him in a song that went this way:

I had this printed in some book or other when I entered this in a competition.

Missing You.

I miss you now, more than I ever did before.
The hurt and the pain lesson not with age.
they say time heals, but that's not true.
It's me that has to go on living with out you.
They took you from my loving arms, I've got to live without you.
I will always hurt inside when I think of you.
I will always go on missing you.
I was rather surprised they wanted to publish it has it's not very good.

It was ok but the end sentence doesn't make sense
