It probably is Grego. Pork scratchings are pork skins with bits of fat attached, cooked until crispy. It's highly probable that there is some hair left on them from the pig. The hair is usually burnt off with a blowtorch prior to cooking, maybe they missed one.

The soggy bits are fat. I only like my own pork crackling, basically because I KNOW which bit of the pig it has come from......no chance of pig pubes.
