Pronunciation

I like to think my written English is good, but, at times, my pronunciation can be a bit wayward. I have been known to pronounce anemone as Annie Moan and graffiti as Graffy Tie. My latest gaffe, during the burial of Dickie 3, was to pronounce Plantagenet as Plant A Jen Et. It made the dear mater laugh when she corrected me.

P.S. Apologies to anyone called Annie.

Re: Pronunciation

proNOUNciation rather than pronunciation, usually made by those who should know better (main stream media).
The best one I've heard was off a guy who spoke of swimming in the specific ocean

I still have trouble pronouncing Armageddon. I pronounce it Ar-meg-a-don. My hubbie says that sounds like a dinosaur

That happens all the time - It's not a pronunciation issue, though: I think the people that do it genuinely think it's the word they should be using. "I would of said..." etc. You see it written on Facebook a lot, and not just by the younger generation.

Slightly off topic... I thought that version of the pink panther in the video above was a load of rubbish.
