Santa's Little Grotty

WELCOME TO SANTA'S

LITTLE GROTTY

O.K. I know it's only the Calm Room with a few balloons strung about, but this isn't the place where you sit on a nice old mans knee and tell him what you want for Christmas, this is the place where you stand and shout to everybody what it is that you DON'T WANT for Christmas!

It's the place to come to give your friends family, loved ones a nice big hint of what to avoid if they really do want you to have a merry time.

It's also the place to come to if you want to offer examples of how a thoughtless/tastless gift ruined your Christmas, so that others can avoid making the same mistake with their choices of pressies.

So come on, we all must have examples of what not to buy, I'll start the ball rolling.......

One year, no thats wrong, I can't give an example being a Billy no Mates I've just realised I never get anything for Christmas, so it's up to you lot to put forward your thoughts of whats definately not hot.

Re: Santa's Little Grotty

I would not like to receive any kind of household electrical item/gadget. Kettles and Steam irons do not make good gifts and the giver is highly likely to be found strangled by the electrical cord.

Re: Santa's Little Grotty

I would not like to receive any make-up items as I am very happy thank you with the Nicole Miller range of which I have got lots.

I would also not like to receive manky bubble bath (because I much prefer bath bombs and such like from Lush or Pink) but I have an ominous feeling I will.

I would not like to receive choccies - oh go on then I admit it, I probably would like to receive choccies.

Re: Santa's Little Grotty

I spend quite a lot of time picking presents that I think are unusual and will genuinely please the recipient. I am usually depressed by the selection of gifts that I am given which generally fall into three categories; Gin, Fags and Underwear. I would love someone to give me a steam iron. It would make a really pleasant change. Sad or what?

A-b men are very difficult to buy presents for! O try to find something different and unusual for them but stores offer the "exciting" new range of - socks, hankies, after shave, etc.

How difficult is it to buy a record token or a book token, or even, God forbid, a real book!

Sparkologist. The lady could be trying to tell you she prefers battery operated appliances.

Of course I do. Cameras, Discman/Walkman type things make great pressies. Actually another pet hate is old fashioned smellies eg lavender, lily of the valley, charlie perfume, the things that elderly ladies buy and think are nice. They always get re-cycled.

Willow the reason men are so hard to buy for is because there is not alot to buy for men!what about a weekend in amsterdam(without the girls),a rally drive with the professionals,a bladeless shaver? A drying machine that doesnt eat socks!A endless supply of amber nector and ruby murrays.A remote control dog walker........no....never mind socks undies aftershave lotion,deodrant....suppose its like any other christmas!!!

Neither of those excellent sugestions would be appreciated by one of my male relatives who doesn't listen to music and never reads.
