Senses
It’s always been common knowledge that being deprived of one sense really can boost another. Now scientists, after researching, say this is so. Wow! We mere mortals could have told them that and saved them the research.
They apparently found this out by keeping mice in darkness to make them ‘blind’ – and the mice then had temporary improvements in their hearing.
The researchers said that this finding gives (and I quote) “potential for simple treatments (for hearing loss) such as depriving humans of vision, maybe by blindfolding them”.
Does that mean the deaf can be blindfolded to make them hear – but then they wouldn’t be able to see.
Oops! maybe the heat IS getting to me. I really do have to stop reading the paper.
