Senses

It’s always been common knowledge that being deprived of one sense really can boost another. Now scientists, after researching, say this is so. Wow! We mere mortals could have told them that and saved them the research.

They apparently found this out by keeping mice in darkness to make them ‘blind’ – and the mice then had temporary improvements in their hearing.

The researchers said that this finding gives (and I quote) “potential for simple treatments (for hearing loss) such as depriving humans of vision, maybe by blindfolding them”.

Does that mean the deaf can be blindfolded to make them hear – but then they wouldn’t be able to see.

Oops! maybe the heat IS getting to me. I really do have to stop reading the paper.

I know that if I don't wear my glasses, I don't hear nearly as well...and if I haven't got my glasses on, then I can't find my glasses.

Re: Senses

I have to disagree, I don't think for example that losing your sense of smell would improve your sense of taste, I knew a bloke that couldn't smell a thing, his sense of taste was bad before he lost his sense of smell he could never pick tasteful clothes and he didn't improve when smell had gone.

Oi that tan cost me a fortune!

Not only that but it's not so much a smile as covering the pain of wearing a posing pouch 3 sizes too small, you'd be horrified if I showed you where the gusset had cut into!

3 sizes too small? You wish! And believe me, you don't need to show me anything, I'm already horrified!
