Shop/Stall Share

Bit of a long shot but here goes;

Do you make things to sell on a part-time or hobby basis and would like to go a step further by having a retail outlet but can't be sure it would work ?

If you could rent space in a town centre shop or even market stall and have your goods sold on your behalf for a payment towards running costs is it something that appeals ?

We are in the position of pursuing a new venture but not convinced that it requires a full shop/stall rent and wondered if anybody is interested in sharing?

As I said a long shot but you never know who is in the same boat

Re: Shop/Stall Share

Unless its all 'new' stuff teh problem you might have is that you could end up an unsuspecting fence for stolen kit

You would need to be sure of provenence of everything you sell or you could be really screwed.

otherwise, you could add ebay etc as an option to the sellers plus car booting etc

Good point but I'm looking more at craft/gift type stuff so hopefully it's not the market for shifting dodgy gear.

My cynical nature should make me wary enough of dodgy dealers

Dave ...you are asking for trouble.
If you are confident in the product you want to sell, take the bull by the horns and go for it yourself.
Don't under any circumstances enter into a partnership, you will become jointly and severally liable for any bebts that are incurred.
I speak from experience.
As has been suggested, try car boot or open market to test your product.
You will get a fair indication of customer reaction with much outlay.
Regards and good luck.........Roy

Re: Shop/Stall Share

Think it might be best to scrap this thread as I appear to have got the wrong ideas across, and I can't make it easier without giving too much away

Thanks for the suggestions, comments and advice but I better have a rethink of how to ask the questions I wanted to ask

Re: Shop/Stall Share

Sounded like a good idea.. youre not looking for a business partner or someone to spend long hours in the shower with... Just someone who might rent some space off you or you sell there goods on commision or both... in order to help with the running costs of stall or shop.

Do i win a prize?

Re: Shop/Stall Share

Were you wanting someone to go halves with the stall/shop rent? Would it have to be on a permanent basis?
