Re: So The Day Has Arrived!

On Saturday morning a plastic adhesive sign appeared affixed to each of the front doors of the communal staircases of the 24 flats where I live
'No smoking in this building'
Each stairwell serves 4 flats. I can understand that Hyndburn Homes has to put up these signs to comply with the new law, but the wording implies that the building (not just the stairwell) is a no smoking zone, and since some of these flats are in private ownership, it does give residents the impression that they are being bullied into not smoking in their own homes.

Hehehehe.... When the pubs and clubs no longer smell of fags, everyone will be able to smell all of the nasties that fags have disguised... B.O, farts etc...

It was in the paper that some pubs are planning to use those air freshener things that puff out a smell every so often.I personally can't be doing with those, they make me feel queasy, mind you so does eau de long distance lorry driver (b.o and farts).Apologies if anyone's a long distance lorry driver, just my little joke

Re: So The Day Has Arrived!

If enough MPs want it done - it will be done.
Like chewing gum is illegal in Singapore.
This campaign against smoking is (allegedly) in the interests of 'the health of the nation'.

Re: So The Day Has Arrived!

Some enterprising chaps will be opening 'smokeasies' - illicit tobacco dens, on the style of speakeasies of US prohibition days - should be fun - plenty of patrons - 25% of adults smoke to some extent.
