thanks
Thanks to all my webby mates for the birthday greetings. Who would have thought that a kid born in the Cross Lane slums of Salford would have seen 73 years? Lots of kids from there hardly saw one year, like the sibling born between my elder sister and myself. Still after being moved to a posh council estate in the late thirties, with a three bedroom house, a garden, a bathroom with hot and cold water, and a flushing toilet, six of the siblings survived. From there I had to leave school at fifteen to work down the pit to help support the family.I managed to escape that terror by joining H.M. Royal Navy and serving twelve glorious years, seeing sights I would never have experienced if I had stayed in Salford, and without one regret, here I am living the life in Church, with a terrific crowd of mates that money couldn't buy. Again thanks to you all for the birthday greetings, and I'll see you when I see you. Love to you all.......... T.C.
