Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening
As everyone seems so hot on "we can't do it unless Roy says it's OK" then why not just PM Roy to ask if it's OK and then nominate Gayle to run it as she thought of the idea?
She could put up an anonymous poll. The nominated posts could be submitted to her, or people could simply post links to them in a thread for that purpose and each one could be given a title, then the titles put in a poll and everyone vote. We can trust Gayle to keep it anonymous and Bob's yer uncle No extra work for Roy.
Now would that be OK or do we need to consult Susan?

I told you to keep Susan out of it. lol
I'm happy to run it if everyone agrees, I promise that everything will be above board.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening
This is the way I see it working
1. We discuss the categories
2. I'll post the final list of categories
3. Nominations can be sent to my by pm
4. I'll post the list of nominations for you to all vote on
5. Everyone sends their votes for the winners by pm to me
6. I will compile the winners and make the announcemnts at a live, on web, ceremony. We'll agree a time and I'll run it like a proper ceremony, winners will be expected to make speeches, losers will be expected to applaud. You will all be expected to be sat at your computers in your finery, in fact pictures being posted as you arrive will be welcomed but not necessary.
So, categories first - we should have about seven or eight I think, any more suggestions.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening
Funniest thread/post.
Thread that became a conversational meander.
Best atavar.
Best profile.
Best photograph in gallery.
Grumpiest poster.
Best innuendo.
Worst thread.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening
Great idea Gayle. I will not be wearing a sequined waistcoat, cufflinks are as frivolous as formal wear should get for a gentleman.
A bit like a newreader though, my below the waist attire will remain a mystery.

Re: The Accyweb Annual Awards Evening
Well I've just had a pm from Roy and he's ok with it so full steam ahead.
I will be posting the official categories some time over the weekend. The more suggestions the better at this stage.
BTW Garinda, when did you start calling yourself a gentleman? Only joking!

A true gentleman wouldn't be so ungentlemanly as to explain.
