Valentine's Day
This has nothing to do with Accrington in particular but as it's Valentine's Day on the 14th I wonder if anyone has any special memories of past Valentines. Could be an interesting topic. Here's one of my memories. Years ago I thought I'd give the old boy a lovely surprise on this special day (only he was a young man then, long time ago) so I made up a very romantic poem, wrote it on pretty paper - hearts and all, and put it in with his lunch sandwich, which he would be having at work. Expecting a romantic greeting when he arrived home I was most upset to discover that he was not a happy chappy - you see I had put the poem BETWEEN the slices and it had nearly choked him.....

Oops! sorry, I just realised that I should probably have put the above in General Chat and not General Community Talk, where it is not the least bit relevant - my apologies, but not being the brightest kid on the block - as you will have noted from my post - you'll have to please excuse me. I'm not crazy because (as Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory would say) my mother had me tested!

Someone IS the brightest kid on the block - many thanks whoever you are for putting my little effort into the right Forum.
And in case anyone is interested and wants to know how come himself didn't realise he was eating paper in his sandwich - it had sort of partly disintegrated between the cheese and the sweet mustard pickles...... |

Nice! He digested your words of love though that's very sweet
 Hm, I've never been much of a fan of V day to be honest just because I prefer to get presents whenever someone feels like it and not because it's a certain day where people are expected to. But it is a good excuse for nice things on the other hand. I'm actually getting to see my man tomorrow and that's something in itself. I sent him a nice email telling him how wonderful he is as well. But aside from that I can't remember anything, I've mostly been at work on every past valentine's day I can think of!

welll .... im in trouble ... why .... cos i sent a text to the spugster while he was at work and he opened it before 10.00 this morning while there was a group of his workmates close by and he got ribbed all day ... the text before anyone says owt was nowt naughty .. best is i sent his pressie today .. so he'll get it sat morning hopefully .. but i sent him his card yesterday ..and he got it today. He says he sent his card on tuesday for me .. and i still aint got it yet ... mmmmm
