Watch your weight even when you leave us.

Heard quick news report at lunch that Crematoriums were having difficulty handling corpses over 25 stone and for coffins which are having to be made in excess of the standard 20", which means some departed souls are having to be transported miles away to meet their maker. Found this link :-

R.I.P

Another nail in the coffin for the growing resentment of overweight people ?

I'm surprised that various councils that run the crematoriums haven't started to introduce a sliding fee based on weight of deceased and amount of gas used

Hey, don't give HBC any ideas Steeljack, will soon have our Margaret P. accusing them another stealth tax.

Think they are doing this already as per the article... extra £500 for transportation to crematorium with more suitable facilities. Mind you, in fairness, most councils are attempting to upgrade, but will all go on the council tax in the end I suppose.

Personally, I think this charge should not be levied onto the bereaved ones.
Have to take the rough with the smooth so to speak.

We wouldn't dream of doing such a disrespectful thing Granny C.

We'll at least wait until you've popped your clogs first.
