Here's a nice thread.
I just thought I'd get that in before Less did.

Re: What’s a nice thread?
Which chin should that be AccyJay? When I bend my head downwards I have two.
Anyway it’s not the Karma thing but the anonymity of the ‘gift’ that annoys a bit. People should be prepared to stand by what they say. I guess it takes all sort.
Ah! Well! Such is life. (They don’t like the French version ‘cos it comes under foreign languages)

Re: What’s a nice thread?
I never liked the word 'nice'....it doesn't mean anything and my old English teacher would do her nut if you put that word in anything she had to mark.
I know that the anonymous karma taker didn't mean 'why don't you post interesting threads'....because it seems to me JB that you DO.......maybe they meant light-hearted threads.....or maybe funny threads.....or even kind threads. You can be sure of one thing.....they didn't say what they meant!

Perhaps you're losing karma points because the language you are using in your post's is upsetting people?
You have in the past said you don't believe in the karma system, so how then in your opinion can it be devalued by Cowards?
Neither you or jam are the only ones to have had karma removed recently, it has happened to a few of us.
If you don't like the karma system there are two things you can do, one of them is ignore it and actually post something worthwhile, (sit down Jambuttie, I'm not including you in this) and the other is well, I don't suppose you want to know what the other is!

Re: What’s a nice thread?
I like the word ‘nice’ Margaret Pilkington. It’s, well nice.
Rightly or wrongly I took it to mean the opposite of nasty.
I know that I’m not the only one to get negative Karma Less but as I said before if someone can’t put their name to what they state then it’s a poor do. It’s not as if it is their real name so that the person can be identified in real life. Even if they could be identified, is someone going to go round and bop them on the nose? No of course not.
I see this Karma thing as just a means of expressing how a post is viewed.
I notice that the smiley at the end of your post reads “THIS TOPIC SUCKS”. If that is your opinion then why add to the thread?
By the way my user name is jambutty, not JB, jam, Jambuttie or anything else so please do me the courtesy of addressing me as jambutty.
From now on, if anyone addresses me as anything other than jambutty I will be sorely tempted to adjust their Karma downwards a bit.

Right Jambutty calm down!

If you re-read what I posted the quotes were not from you but from Ianto, I know it was your original thread, but I was trying to explain to him not you.
I see this Karma thing as just a means of expressing how a post is viewed.

Where was "This topic sucks"? it was in my post, it was meant to be a back lash, a funny against what I had posted, not you.
By the way my user name is jambutty, not JB, jam, Jambuttie or anything else so please do me the courtesy of addressing me as jambutty.
Spelling mistake I do apologise Marmalade,(erm spellchecker please), Jambutty.
From now on, if anyone addresses me as anything other than jambutty I will be sorely tempted to adjust their Karma downwards a bit.
I hope you give people the pleasure of knowing who you are, I would hate Ianto to call you a Coward!
If you look on that post, I did put a comment in,
Quote:
sit down Jambuttie, I'm not including you in this
|
, (the spelling mistake was in the original that I have quoted not deliberate). The reason for that I thought, obvious, I wasn't including you.
Right, that is as close as you will ever get to an apology from me, because it is quite obvious that, you chose which part of that post, to comment on and which part to ignore or you would have read and understood that I was not meaning you and yet you paid enough attention to it to notice I had made a spelling mistake, Hmmm selective or what?

Actually a large number of AccyWebbers do know each other in real life and we know who is who from the nicknames on here. That's the beauty of AccyWeb, we get to meet each other in real life, and we've got photos to prove it.
