Re: When does Christmas officially begin for you?
Christmas starts for me on Christmas Eve, when all the preparation is done and I can then enjoy the time.
I always have a large family gathering at my house and on Christmas Eve set the Tables and get everything ready for our special day together. Once all the relatives have arrived back in the area from all over the country and everything is prepared, presents all wrapped and the log fire burning then I know it's Christmas.

Re: When does Christmas officially begin for you?
It starts for me when the first carol singers ring my door bell and upon opening the said door they start their inharmonious noise.
It ends about 10 seconds later when I tell them to buggar off home.

Re: When does Christmas officially begin for you?
Don't really have a specific point, a lot depends on how we feel really, but I'd say from about the 16th onwards maybe then we'll put up the tree.

The place was full of little brats - thousands upon thousands of them creating havoc everywhere and to make matters worse the precinct bar had been turned over to kiddies face painting. That, on top of some useless grotto (although I must say some of the fairy queen girls were cracking looking wenches)
So I went to the pub round the corner but even that was packed with squealing kids. I could not even get through the door. It's going to take me a week to recover.

Re: When does Christmas officially begin for you?
No, he doesn't Neil...though he can cook('how many lumps of gravy do you want with that?' he has been known to ask)but he does help with the washing up......sometimes he is infuriatingly efficient at this. What I mean by that is, he will wash up stuff (like my turning tongs) before I have finished using them.
And he is super delivery boy(asbestos fingers)......he takes a cooked roast dinner to both my elderly neighbours while I dish up ours.

Re: When does Christmas officially begin for you?
Just a quick heads up for those of you who've got little believers (or big for that matter) in your house this jolly Yuletide, this may possibly keep the ankle biters mildly amused.

Just looked on next years recycling calendar and Christmas trees in Ossy get collected on the 6th Jan. We are third to have them collected.
What is that useless Britcliffe playing at?
We vote him in to get things first in Ossy
