White rabbits folks!
It's an old (possibly Lancashire) tradition on the first day of the month Yolanda. We say "White rabbits". It's supposed to be the very first thing you say when you wake up on the first day of the month. My mother used to say it three times. I have absolutely no idea why.

Pinch, punch, 1st day of the month....................no return!
Something I have done since I was a little girl!! I'm from down south and I only heard of White rabbits since I came up north. So I do both!!! Tho' my children think I'm nuts and wonder why they have a sore arm at beginning of each month! pinch and a punch for the first of the month - Wiktionary |
