Okay kids, you don't know you're born - try my boss, Raymond Tooth, otherwise known as "Jaws", divorce lawyer to the very rich and preferably famous. This man expects his staff to work all the hours God sends, and refuses to pay overtime (even though it is in our contracts). When he goes on holiday, he phones in every day (usually at lunchtime, because he is in Antigua and it is breakfast time there). I have to read over the post to him, and he dictates replies (at about 400 words per minute - sadly, I only do shorthand up to about 200 words a minute). He usually phones at about 1 o'clock. Last week he was on holiday. He phoned two days running at about 2:45 - meaning I had to stay at my desk waiting for his call, starving to death.

He also refuses to let his staff have holidays (he told me the other week that if I took the Thursday off which I had booked about 3 weeks before, I would have to resign!!). Needless to say, I took the Thursday. Funnily enough, I am still here!

Be careful what you write, Pendy.....You never know, Raymond could be lying on his beach with his wireless internet connection, tuned in right now to the Accy Web.

No, Tealeaf, he's upstairs in his office right now (got back on Sunday) .... and he wouldn't know how to access the internet. This man once asked me in front of a client "Have I got e-mail at home?", to which the answer was "No Ray, because you don't have a PC"! - his response? - "What's a PC?".
